The capacity building project for forest workers in Vietnam aims at strengthening the competitiveness of the local forestry sector through the introduction of sustainable forest management. The main targets were the establishment of a forest management training curriculum based on international standards in a training center in Quang Tri province as well as the conduction of theoretical and practical classes on sustainable forest management practices. The project was supported by the German Federal Ministry for Cooperation and Development (BMZ) within the framework of the develoPPP-programme conducted by GIZ.
- Development of a Training-of-Trainers curriculum for a forestry school on sustainable forest management according to FSC Standard (Forest Stewardship Council)
- Performance of classes and field trainings in sustainable forest management including chainsaw and safety trainings
