Steve Baczko - Managing Director, North America


Steve brings 20+ years of management, strategic consulting and business development experience working in environmental markets, natural climate solutions, climate policy, corporate sustainability, international business and entrepreneurial ventures both in the private and NGO sectors. Steve currently serves as the North American Managing Director for NatureBank, where he directs land use project origination, commercial engagements and strategic partnerships for regulatory and voluntary markets.

Prior to joining NatureBank, Steve was Head of New Markets and Senior Manager of Global Consulting services for EcoSecurities/JP Morgan, the largest developer of emission reduction projects for the global carbon markets. While at EcoSecurities, Steve built a portfolio of global Fortune 500 clients and spearheaded new products and services that led to the North American market expansion. Steve also has worked at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private investment branch of the World Bank. While at the IFC, Steve helped launch the Grassroots Business Initiative that provides financing and technical assistance services to social enterprises throughout the developing world. Before joining the IFC, Steve was based in Vietnam working in natural fiber manufacturing and supply chain development, principally for IKEA.

Steve holds a BA from Georgetown University and serves on the Advisory Board for One Energy, the Board of Directors for Adaptive Sports NW and is the former founding Director of Oregon Business for Climate.
