Simon Phillips - Director, Clean Technology Projects
Simon brings 15 years of experience in environmental and climate change consulting and leads the development of clean technology projects and services at NatureBank. He has worked for a broad set of clients on projects related to environmental risk, carbon management, and sustainability. Simon’s career has been driven by his passion for finding solutions to the world’s most pressing environmental problems. He is trained as an engineer, but thrives in a multidisciplinary environment where he believes the best environmental solutions are found. Simon has significant experience developing carbon projects both in Canada and internationally.
Before joining NatureBank Simon worked for a number of environmentally focused enterprises, including SNC-Lavalin, one of the world’s leading engineering groups, and BC Hydro, a provincial power provider focused on renewable power generation. Simon is a registered Professional Engineer and holds a BASc in Environmental Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, an MSc in Environmental Management from the University of London’s Centre for Development, Environment and Policy. When he is not working on carbon and sustainability projects Simon can be found exploring the Coast Mountains either on foot or on skis.
